Methods to Reuse water at Home:

  1. Collect the water used to rinse fruits and veggies and use it to water gardens. This can be done by plugging the sink during rinsing fruits and vegetables.
  2. When you’re warming up the shower, stick a bucket under the running tap until you’re ready to get in. You can collect a good amount of water which can be used for non-potable purposes.
  3. Rain gardens should be created because they use the natural water flow from the soil to nurture the plants that thrive there. It is designed to reuse water that would otherwise be discharged into sewage systems.
  4. Instead of using the municipal water supply, start collecting rainwater to irrigate your garden. Install a rain barrel beneath the gutter's downspout to collect as much water as possible when it rains.
  5. Use gardening pots that collect excess water that runs off the holes in the pot when the plant is watered. This collected water can be reused to water the plants.
  6. Old pet water obtained when changing the water of fish tanks or the water used to bathe other pets can be reused to water indoor or outdoor plants.
  7. Greywater is wastewater from non-toilet plumbing devices in the home, such as showers, basins, and faucets. It is little used and does not come into touch with excrement, although it may retain residue from cleaning agents, grease, hair, food, or dirt. Wastewater is diverted from drainage sinks and washing machines and sent into a greywater collecting system in the reuse process. Greywater may be reused to clean the veranda and driveway, water the lawn, and even wash the car and doormats outside after an essential filtration.
  8. Use a Sink-to-toilet water system, where greywater (water that has been used for washing purposes) flows from the sink to the toilet every time you flush.
  9. Recycle and reuse your swimming pool water over and over after filtration and reverse osmosis.
  10. Water used for boiling pasta, noodles, or rice can be collected and reused for other purposes like watering the plants.
